(Pictured from left to right) The 2009 SCHED*SXSW Team: Robert Duffy, Taylor McKnight, Arkadiy Kukarkin SXSW is still a hungover memory, but we’ve already started to think about new features and enhancements for the 2010 SXSW*SCHED. We’d love to hear your feeadback, though. What did you love? What didn’t you like? What should we change? What ideas do you have to make SCHED...

Eugene Mirman’s SXSW TIPS
Guest post by comedian Eugene Mirman Here are some good guidelines for those heading down to SXSW for the first time and need some advice: 1. Be careful who you give spare change to, some of the “homeless” are actually guitarists in British bands and get offended easily. 2. If someone tells you they are having a party for their new internet based startup that helps bands reach fans, stab...

Guest Post: What is Flatstock? And how to do it up...
Clinton Reno is an illustrator living in Columbus OH. Flatstock is a 4-day convention during SXSW featuring many of the biggest names in concert poster art. There are a number of Flatstocks over the course of the year at different music festivals, but the one at SXSW is by far the biggest and as a result can be somewhat overwhelming. So before going in, these are the few things you should...

Duffy says: If this is true, it’d be sort of crazy if Kanye didn’t play an official SXSW event. Nothing that makes SXSW official crazier than an event bringing in a big name like this. If anyone has more details, share in comments or e-mail us.

SCHED* Database Updates
SXSWi is in full swing but that doesn’t mean we’re going to stop updating the database! We’ve just added the schedules for the Fader Fort, Brooklyn Vegan/Agency Group show, Lucero Family Picnic, and two Other Music shows at the French Legation Museum. That puts us at over 2,000+ entries for unofficial music bands this year!

One of the cool things about SXSW is seeing bands make their debut. My Jerusalem is led by solo artist Jeff Klein who recruited friends that he met on the road (Klein was a touring member of the Twilight Singers on the Powder Burns tour). Rounding out the band are guitarist Dave Rosser (of Twilight Singers), bassist Ashley Dzerigian (formally of Great Northern), drummer Cully Symington (formally...

The Day of Pilgrimage
Today is when people descend for what I call Spring Break for Web Nerds, the SXSW Interactive Festival. According to my.sxsw a total of about 20,000 people have signed up to be a part of this year’s event either as a speaker, attendee, tradeshow booth babe, or what have you. On top of that, the Interactive panels (that attendees helped pick) have exploded across the Austin Convention...
