We are proud to announce our exclusive SXSW 2009 sponsor for this year’s schedule, blog coverage and more: MailChimp!
Why A Sponsor?
SCHED* was launched as an experiment that garnered a lot (!!!) of unexpected attention. First and foremost, SCHED*SXSW will always be a passion project, and we’ve put a lot of time and effort into making this year even better than last. We’ve cleaned up the layout, added the SCHED*SXSW Blog, opened a Community Blog, & launched new features like listen to your schedule as a playlist, embed your schedule, and show recommendations. One of the most time consuming tasks is listing user submitted events and ones we find on the web.
A lot of work goes in to making your SXSW scheduling experience so effortless. All told, we’ve spent over 250 hours just on this year’s SXSW schedule among a team of 7 people. Getting our service sponsored keeps us going and ensures you’ll continue to have the best conference scheduler around for years to come.
About MailChimp
As we’re expanding our service to support more conferences and festivals, we hope to make SCHED* as effortless and enjoyable as the sites we admire most. MailChimp is one of a handful of sites that we’ve cribbed notes from (others include 37signals, Wufoo, Mint) and we were pleasantly surprised when they approached us about our SXSW sponsorship package. They put a LOT of effort into making a simple, easy to use product. If your company (online OR offline) is ready to engage in email marketing then give them a look.
I won’t give you the whole spiel here but if you appreciate our service, support us by clicking through and reading more about MailChimp’s product offerings. They’ll also be posting one blog entry a week teaching you how their service can help!
